What Does a WDI Report Show?

A WDI report can look like a lot of boxes and fine print. Do not worry. Here is what it says, section by section.

Which Insects Does It Cover?

Termites, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, and wood-boring beetles that can come back and keep damaging wood.

What Did We Find?

  • No evidence seen. This is the answer most people hope for.

  • Live insects. The insects are active right now.

  • Dead insects or frass (droppings). Signs that insects were there. They may not be active today.

  • Visible damage. Wood that has been eaten or weakened.

Signs of Past Treatment

Sometimes we see signs that a home was treated before, like small drill holes in concrete. We note it. We cannot vouch for another company's work. Ask the seller for treatment records.

Do We Recommend Treatment?

The report says yes or no. If we say yes, it names the insects. If we say no but saw old signs, we explain why.

Areas We Could Not Reach

Stored items, insulation, standing water, or a locked door can block part of a home. We list what was blocked and why. This part matters. It tells you what we could not see.

What the Report Does Not Show

It is not a structural damage report. It does not cover mold. It is a look at one day, not a promise about the future. Read more about the standard form in the NPMA-33 report form.
