First Question: Which Roach Is It?
This is not a technicality. The two common ones in Wichita are completely different problems with completely different solutions.
​
German cockroaches. Small, about half an inch, light brown with two dark stripes behind the head. These live indoors full time, almost always in kitchens and bathrooms. They breed fast. One female and her offspring can produce tens of thousands in a year. If you are seeing small roaches in a cabinet or behind the fridge, this is almost certainly what you have, and it is the one that needs a real plan.

American cockroaches. Big, an inch and a half or more, reddish brown. Sometimes called water bugs or palmetto bugs. These live outdoors and in sewers, drains, and crawl spaces, and wander inside. Seeing one occasionally in a basement after a rain is very different from a kitchen full of German roaches.
​
Oriental cockroaches. Dark, almost black, an inch or so. Damp areas, basements, drains, under sinks.

Does This Mean My House Is Dirty?
Mostly, no. And this is worth saying plainly.
​
German roaches are hitchhikers. They ride in on grocery bags, cardboard boxes, used appliances, secondhand furniture, and deliveries. They come through shared walls in apartments and duplexes. Spotless homes get them constantly.
​
What we will tell you honestly is that once they are inside, food and moisture decide how fast they spread. That is not blame. That is just the part you can control, and we will show you exactly what to change.
​
The Signs
​
Live roaches during the day. Roaches are nocturnal. Seeing them in daylight usually means the population has outgrown its hiding spots.
​
Droppings. German roach droppings look like coarse black pepper or coffee grounds, usually in cabinet corners, drawer tracks, and behind appliances. Larger species leave droppings closer to the size of a grain of rice.
​
Egg cases. Small brown capsules, about a quarter inch, tucked in cracks, behind drawers, or under the lip of a counter.
​
Smear marks. Dark, irregular streaks along baseboards and cabinet edges in humid areas.
​
A musty, oily smell. Strong infestations have a distinct odor. Most people notice it in a cabinet or under a sink before they see anything.
​
Shed skins. Roaches molt several times. Translucent shells in a corner are a sign of an active, breeding population.
​

Why Roaches Are a Health Issue, Not Just a Gross One
​
We are not going to run the horror-movie pitch on you. But this one is worth knowing, because it is the reason roaches deserve a faster response than most pests.
​
Roach droppings and shed skins break down into airborne particles. Those particles are a recognized asthma and allergy trigger, and the effect is strongest in children. Roaches also travel through drains and garbage before they walk across a counter, which is how they move bacteria around a kitchen.
​
That is not a reason to panic. It is a reason not to wait six months.
​

What Not to Do
​
Do not buy a fogger or a bug bomb. This is the single most common roach mistake. Foggers do not reach into the wall voids, motor housings, and cabinet cracks where German roaches actually live. Worse, the repellent effect scatters them deeper into the structure and into neighboring units. People who bomb a roach problem usually end up with a bigger one in more rooms.
​
Do not spray the ones you see. The ones out in the open are a small fraction of the population. Killing them changes nothing and can make the survivors avoid the areas we need them to travel through.
​
Do not start pulling apart cabinets. You will spread egg cases.
​
​
What Actually Helps, and Costs You Nothing
​
Fix dripping faucets and slow drains. Roaches need water more urgently than food.
​
Wipe counters and sweep crumbs nightly, especially under the toaster and around the stove.
​
Store pet food in a sealed container, and pick up bowls overnight.
​
Move cardboard out. Boxes are roach housing and roach transport.
​
Take trash out nightly and keep the can lid closed.
​
Check secondhand appliances and furniture before they come in the door.
​
None of that requires hiring anybody. We would rather you prevent a problem than pay us to fix one.

How Our Roach Service Works
Step 1. Text us a photo. We identify the species. No charge, usually same day. This alone saves people weeks.

Step 2. We price it remotely. We use property measuring technology to pull your home’s dimensions without setting foot on the property. That gives you a real estimate instead of a placeholder.

Step 3. You get on the schedule. No sales visit. No consultation appointment. The one visit you book is the visit where the work happens.
​
Step 4. Treatment. Your technician inspects the kitchen, bathrooms, appliance voids, and harborage points, then treats where roaches actually live rather than where you saw one.
​
German roach work is a process, not a single event. Egg cases are protected and hatch on their own schedule, so the follow-up matters as much as the first service. We will not quote you a magic number of visits, because anyone who does is guessing.
​
No contracts, ever. You decide each service as you go.

This Is a Team Effort, and You Are On the Team
​
Roaches do not get eliminated by a technician alone. They get eliminated by a technician and a household working the same plan.
​
Your technician treats the harborage points. You handle the moisture, the crumbs, the cardboard, and the pet food. Skip either half and it stretches out.
​
The inspection is thorough. Kitchen, bathrooms, appliance motor housings, cabinet voids, and the rooms next to them. We are finding where they live, not confirming where you saw one.
​
The education is the part that sticks. Before your technician leaves, you will know what species you have, where they were nesting, what we did, and exactly what to change before the next service.
​
We do not disappear between visits. See something at ten at night, text us a photo. Not sure whether a spot matters, ask. You are not on your own between appointments.
​
We work it as a team until the roaches are gone. That is the finish line.
​

What We Will Not Do
​
We will not tell you it is worse than it is.
​
If you have one American roach that came up a floor drain after a storm, we will tell you that and we will not sell you a German roach program. If you send us a photo of something that is not a roach at all, we will tell you that too and you will not owe us anything for the answer.
​
No contracts. Not now, not ever. If we earn your business, we earn it again next time.
​
Treat people how we want to be treated. That is the whole business.

Roaches in Apartments, Duplexes, and Rentals
​
German roaches move between units through wall voids, shared plumbing, outlets, and under doors. Treating one unit while the unit next door goes untreated is the number one reason a roach problem keeps coming back.
​
Tell your landlord or property manager early. We work with property managers across the Wichita area and can coordinate treatment across adjoining units when that is what the situation needs.
