How to Check Your Bed for Bed Bugs in 10 Minutes

You do not need special tools. A flashlight and a few minutes will do.

Step by Step

1. Strip the bed. Pull back the sheets and look at the corners.

2. Check the mattress seams, piping, and tags.

3. Look at the box spring and the bed frame, including the joints.

4. Check the headboard and the wall behind it.

5. Look at nearby furniture, like nightstands.

What You Are Looking For

• Shed skins.

• Small round black or brown spots.

• Live bugs, flat and reddish brown.
